I am currently working as a part time production manager for a luxury ladies wear brand. For some 12 years prior to this, I held the position of Managing Director for the Puffa brand of unisex clothing and accessories.
During my time at Puffa, I revised and improved the supply chain, switching manufacture from the UK to Europe and from 1998 to the Far East. During this time gross margin was improved from around 40% to just under 60%.
Working closely with design, sales and Chinese suppliers, I was able to consistently improve the product whilst increasing margin and minimising faulty goods. I worked closely with multiple retailers, to deliver goods at the requested time, packaged to their individual requirements.
Previously, as Production Director for the Tricoville Group of Companies I was able to reduce costs and improve delivery times, whilst enhancing product quality. I had sole responsibility for administration, facilities, production, import/export and warehousing departments in the UK and additionally the Hong Kong buying office. I liaised with our designers to produce the finalised collections, then organised the sample ranges (firstly prototypes, then salesman samples) so that they arrived on time and priced according to sales requirements. I then made sure that all production was delivered at the right time and to the agreed specification
I have the gravitas and confidence necessary to successfully negotiate with customers, suppliers and employees. I am also aware of the need to trade in an ethical and sustainable manner, whilst still achieving targets.
